Electrolysis for unwanted hair on the Mornington Peninsula

Electrolysis has been recognised and highly respected for many years as a permanent hair removal method. Now, its popularity is spreading as its versatile benefits are becoming widely recognised.

As far back as the early 1900’s electrolysis has also been used to treat broken capillaries, spider naevi, warts and xanthelasma (yellow plaques found on eyelids). Since that time, it has progressed with ongoing improvements and modern technology making it a safe and effective treatment very much in demand with clients of today.

Electrolysis FAQ’s

What happens during the Electrolysis treatment?

A small probe is inserted into the hair follicle releasing energy in the form of warmth or heat.

This process cauterises or coagulates the active area of the follicle.

Your electrolysis specialist will guide you step-by-step through the procedure and the aftercare required for you.

How long does it take and how many treatments will I require?

The time of the treatment depends on the size of the area being treated.

During the consultation a treatment plan will be discussed and tailored to suit your individual needs.

Does electrolysis hurt?

The insertion of the probe is rarely felt, however when the current is discharged (for a fraction of a second) a sensation of warmth is experienced. Everybody’s threshold varies, if you find it uncomfortable, you can purchase numbing creams from a pharmacy.

In saying this, only a very small number of clients use them.

How much doEs Electrolysis cost?

The price varies depending on the time of the treatment.

Your electrolysis specialist will be able to give you a price estimate during the consultation.

Electrolysis treatments are safe and effective. They are best suited to smaller areas of the body, e.g. chin, lip eyebrows areola and naval line. Also, for persistent hairs that remain from Laser or IPL treatments.

For larger areas of the body, visit our page on IPL treatments.
